Data Redundancy
RAID is a method whereby data is written simultaneously to two or more
hard disk drives. In the event that one hard drive fails, the Server can
continue to operate. The defective hard disk drive is replaced without interrupting the server (hot-swap). RAID or Mirroring is ideal for businesses
that cannot afford server downtime.
Disaster Recovery preparedness helps to uncover liabilities that are better addressed ahead of time, rather than when a problem occurs. Simulating a disaster and restoring backed up data helps a businesses get a forward view on some of the issues that can adversely affect productivity in the event of equipment or data failure.
Clustering & Load Balancing are ideal for businesses that need highly available servers. A clustered server can ease network traffic by dividing the workload between two or more servers. Clustered servers also provides redundancy. Data can be mirrored between clustered servers. If one of the clustered servers fails, a secondary server takes ownership of the primary server's duties. |
